Daniel Brown

I was born in New York City in 1950 and am now a resident of Taos, New Mexico. I have been behind the camera since 1974. My photo-journalistic pieces about the Kehler-Corner Tax Resistance, the 1994 Convocation at Auschwitz, and the 1998 Interfaith Pilgrimage of the Middle Passage have been published in a variety of local, regional, national, and international magazines including Yoga Journal.
From 2001 - 2003, I taught art and photography workshops at the alternative Community School and the Franklin County Technical School in western Massachusetts as well as documenting the shrines associated with the 9/11 terrorist attack in New York City.
In 2006, I began work with the University of Massachusetts/Amherst Library Rare Books Collection archiving the 10,000 image photo history of the Renaissance Community, the largest and longest lasting communal experiment in the Northeast. I have exhibited my photographs throughout the east coast including entries in New York City, Boston and Taos.
